The United Way of Southington’s annual Day of Caring Sept. 5 brought volunteers from The Hartford of Southington to paint the interior of Community Mental Health Affiliates’ Child Guidance Clinic. CMHA’s Child Guidance Clinic provides outpatient mental health services to children and families and empowers them to resolve their challenges. The fresh coat of paint brightened the building to provide a welcoming atmosphere, organizers said. The United Way provides funding to CMHA, enabling hundreds of central Connecticut families to get the help they need to make positive changes in their lives. United Way’s Day of Caring fosters relationships between United Way agencies and local workplaces and promotes volunteerism in the community.
