Shirley K. Rogers

Shirley K. Rogers, 83, of Southington, died Dec. 26, 2007, in Longboat Key, Fla. She was the wife of Frank "Bud" Rogers.

Throughout her 60 years as a Southington resident, she was actively involved with Rogers' Orchards, and proud to see the eighth generation join the family business. Mrs. Rogers served on the Southington Board of Education in the 1950's and early 60's and also worked as a substitute teacher for many years in local schools.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Patricia Lumry and her husband, Rufus, of Bellevue, Wash.; a son, John Rogers and his wife, Nancy, of Southington; her brother, John Krick; seven grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Southington. Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain, is assisting the family with arrangements.
