Students from the Peer Advocates group of John F. Kennedy Middle School Middle School urge people to "vote no for drugs" at Wednesday night's Red Ribbon Rally on the town green. Several hundred students, community leaders and residents turned out for the event.

While citizens across the United States are considering how to vote in the upcoming presidential race, many Southington residents feel another vote may be just as important: "Your vote does count! Say no to drugs and alcohol!"

The Southington Police Department made several arrests for various drug charges, it was announced by the department July 3.
On June 26, Jamie Hamel, 26, a Southington resident, returned from Florida and surrendered herself at Southington police headquarters on two active arrest warrants issued by Bristol Superior Court.

Southington Police Department announced May 15 three arrest warrants have been executed by the Narcotics Enforcement Team.

On May 7, the Southington Police Narcotic Enforcement Team arrested Edward Serrano age 28, of Waterbury, and Bajrame Iljazi, age 31, formally of 255 Hitchcock Road, Southington for possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, operating a drug factory, paraphernalia in a drug factory, and money laundering. Iljazi was also charged with possession of marijuana.
