So far I've been blessed in
So far I've been blessed in that I never had cancer (so far). But my dad died of liver cancer and my mom had colon cancer so I definitely have my checkups. My heart feels so sad when I walk the track and see the luminarias honoring those who I knew or were friends' loved ones that died of cancer. Seems like no family is unscathed.
(Personally I think it is all the plastics we used that is the major culprit but that is another story...)
Cancer unfortunately takes many...
Cancer seems to be too common in my family. The most important person that I have lost was my father to lung cancer. It was not genetic but caused by asbestos from his job. I have also lost both of my grandfathers to different types of cancer, along with an aunt to lung cancer. I also have another aunt fighting with cancer at this time.
I pray every day that my young daughter does not ever have to deal with all these deaths by cancers as I have growing up and hope that someday SOON a cure or other preventative measures can be made to prevent others from losing loved ones.

Did your father asked for his rights in court? There are many people who were misguided and cheated by their own work contractors and now they are paying the price for it. You could file for an mesothelioma asbestos lawsuit, this would help you. I am sorry to hear about your dad.
